With the explosion of online websites, podcasts, and conferences explaining to you how to enhance your life, it’s clear many of us want to become a better paraphrase individually. We all want to be the person we imagine each in our dreams. Moreover, we could be all we dream if given just the right circumstances and with that ultimate crave of wanderlust which will boost our personal development.
“Also we want to be less involved in social circumstances.”
“Well, we all also want to eat better.”
“Further, We desire to read more and more .”
“Furthermore, we want to work more to fulfill our dreams.”
“We want to be more active in the circumstances.”
And the list goes on and on!!
But at last, we all want to be more independent.
So often we go through times in our lives without truly thinking about where we are primarily heading. Furthermore, One day turns into the next and all those personal development goals that we aspire to do and become seem to stack up while we look for the ideal day to start.
Even besides the last year, I’ve had various ups and downs but have been working like hell to make changes to my life that I always dream. Furthermore, believe me, it takes a lot of work along with unbeatable crave that inspire you to change all. Even just make one or two small changes to improve personal development your life demands concentrated effort and endurance. But what if you dream of making a hundred changes in your life?
Then that would be biting off more than you can chew. Only very few people have the mental energy, or that unbeatable crave as — Steve Jobs says “The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.”
That’s the acumen why most new year’s resolutions fail as soon as new ends. We use to build a long list of things to achieve or resolutions to follow in the new year. But always at the end point, most of us just give up, overwhelmed by our desires that we want to fulfill.
So when people ask me all the ways by which they can to improve their personal development, my advice to them is to travel for one simple reason as it is a tale of endless adventure with extraordinary joy which can give you extreme pleasure.:
Travel unlocks personal development goals.
Imagine this: You’ve booked a flight to south India, but You don’t know the local language spoken there. And, to top it off, imagine that you’re going alone. You land in south India; Now you have to navigate your way through signs which are in a different language.
Furthermore when you will reach out to ask people they also probably don’t speak in your language. Well for directions (maybe pantomime and point at maps indicating where you want to go), get to your hostel, make friends in the dorm (no one wants to be alone), and get around and sightsee the city during your stay.
Besides all this by the time when you will leave, you will surely learn how to communicate even in circumstances when you don’t even speak the local language. Understood how to navigate in unknown destinations, learn tricks to turn strangers into good friends, learn how to be independent, learn to stay on your own and solved a slew of problems that came up as you made your way to a foreign land.
During one complete trip, you got better at conversations, problem-solving, different languages, social circumstances can improve your personal development skills,. even your abilities to do new things and handle unexpected conditions.
Why? Because you had to or You had no option.
And you didn’t even know you were performing it.
People regularly ask me about the moment I realized and I “changed.” While there are times in your life cycle that ripple through the years. Furthermore, for me, there was no single situation that I can point to that transformed me from a shy introvert who never traveled to someone able to explore down in any city through out the world.Find my way, and even turn strangers into your friends and best friends. It was a process that happened over time while exploring various Incredible destinations which further changes the way you think.
Before I set out on my first trip round whole India, I had never actually lived outside my state Himachal. I hadn’t traveled much, had a small group of just a few friends, and never even had a single love relationship.
I was a nerdy wallflower. While the old parts of me still come out sometimes. But now it’s a lot easier for me to talk to new people when there’s no one familiar around just by exploring various cultures and destinations. While I still run through all the “what ifs” when I get on a bike for a road trip to a new destination.
Traveling forced me out of my routine. It helped me become independent, take more risks, being myself with change, get better with people, learn more, and be more adaptable.
Travel is not some panacea. The baggage you have comes with you on the road. There is no place far enough away to escape your problems. But what travel does is give you the space to be someone else and improve your life.
This allows you to say “What would the new me do?” and then do it – without worrying that someone you know might notice. It puts you into situations that force you to better yourself. It won’t instantly solve your problems — only you can do that — but at least, on the road, you have a clean slate to try.
As the new year approaches and you create your list of resolutions, cross them all off, and just write one down: to travel alone more.
Traveling is the ultimate way to become a better, more confident.
